MURAL DÍA CONTRA LA LGTBFOBÍA
In 2022, the town hall of Beniel, my hometown, commissioned me to create a commemorative mural for the International Day Against LGBTQ+phobia (May 17th). Initially, this mural was supposed to be done in collaboration with the local high school. However, it couldn’t be carried out together with the school, so independently, with the collaboration of the Beniel town hall, I created the mural in a new location.
The mural spans almost 10 meters wide by 2 meters high, featuring two giant human figures floating in a blank space; the chains symbolize repression, yet they appear broken, indicating that the protagonists of the artwork have managed to free themselves from oppression and are rushing to touch, to love each other. In the center of the composition, we see an explosion of color when both figures touch, representing love.
En 2022 el ayuntamiento de Beniel, mi pueblo natal, me encarga realizar un mural conmemorativo con motivo del Día Contra la LGTBfobia (17 de Mayo). En un principio este mural iba a ser realizado con la colaboración del instituto de la localidad. Sin embargo, no se pudo llevar a cabo junto al instituto y de forma independiente, con la colaboración del ayuntamiento de Beniel, realicé el mural en una nueva ubicación.
Un mural de casi 10 metros de ancho por 2 de alto, con dos figuras humanas gigantes, flotando en un espacio en blanco; las cadenas simbolizan la represión, pero aparecen rotas, lo que significa que las protagonistas de la obra han conseguido liberarse de la opresión y se apresuran a tocarse, a amarse. En el centro de la composición vemos que se produce una explosión de color cuando ambas figuras se tocan, es una forma de representar el amor.
